Murray Sinclair, a lifelong Anishinaabe visionary and a member of the Peguis First Nation, near Winnipeg, Man., has died at the age of 73. The former senator who led the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has left a legacy of hope and justice for his people and perhaps some unexpected but nonetheless valuable enlightenment for non-Indigenous Canadians. He was a lawyer and the province of Manitoba’s first Indigenous judge who was a Companion of the Order of Canada.
